I’ve been creating landscape photographs and paintings for a long time … because I just enjoyed doing it.
When I was confirmed in 8th grade, I read about never-ending love (Isaiah 54:10). I thought I understood. I didn’t.
When in college, I published a small art book of my photographs of the Midwest and called it “Home for Awhile”. Then I headed to California … I thought I understood. I didn’t.
For forty years I’d lived my way. I thought I knew God and I thought I understood. I didn’t.
While wandering, often asking “why” and “how”, He pursued me and He loved me. I didn’t understand. Now I do.
This world is not my home, I’m only passing through (T. Waits) … it really is just home for a while. Too many “why God?” and “how God?” questions kept me wandering.
“If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world”. (C.S. Lewis)
This painting is called “HOME”. No more questions; I understand.
